Lead Quality Inspector

Overview:

Senvias is seeking a detail-oriented Lead Quality Inspector to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards while providing hands-on inspections and leadership. Position Summary:

The Lead Quality Inspector ensures that products meet established quality standards and customer requirements while performing hands-on inspections. This role combines inspection duties with key responsibilities in training team members, assisting with decision-making, and determining work assignments. The Lead Quality Inspector helps facilitate smooth operations within the quality department and supports continuous improvement initiatives.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products according to predefined specifications and standards.
  • Utilize measurement tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to perform precise inspections.
  • Document inspection results, including recording defects, deviations, and corrective actions taken.
  • Provide training and guidance to new and existing Quality Inspectors, ensuring adherence to quality standards and effective inspection practices.
  • Assist with decision-making related to quality issues, including on advising on appropriate corrective actions and adjustments.
  • Determine and coordinate daily work assignments for second shift Quality Inspectors to ensure efficient inspection processes and coverage.
  • Facilitate communication between the Quality Inspection team and other departments (e.g., production, process engineering) to address quality concerns and enhance processes.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics and performance to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure that inspection tools and equipment are properly calibrated, maintained, and in good working condition

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or inspection, with extensive hands-on inspection experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong technical expertise in quality inspection and measurement techniques.
  • Ability to effectively train and mentor colleagues
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100)
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weights.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, protective eye wear, and others as required.
  • Exposure to noise from machinery and equipment.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and lighting conditions.
  • Some overtime may be required to meet production deadlines or address quality issues.
